The workshop will be held near Mullumbimby in northern NSW

The cost will be $240  for wage
earners with partial work exchange available for students, activists etc.

The facilitators fee is donated to rainforest conservation projects  in
Africa or S America.

Participants will  mostly be students from the U of Western Syd (25 of them) plus maybe 5
others.

here are the relevant descriptions from the unit outline
that Brenda Dobia of UWS  put together on the basis of the materials I sent
her.

<<To many contemporary writers and activists global threats to the
environment are symptomatic of human failure to recognise the sacredness of
Earth and Nature. From this point of view, any hope of turning around
current patterns of environmental exploitation and destruction will require
a change of heart (as well as mind) which results in a re-spiritualised
sense of interdependence with the living Earth. Ecospirituality will
provide students with the opportunity to experience first-hand the work of
an Australian-based internationally respected deep ecologist. A field-based
intensive format has been chosen for this unit to enable students to
develop an experiential understanding of their own human connectedness in
and with nature, and to develop practical skills for environmental activism
and cultural change.

Students taking this unit will:· Understand and experience the
interconnections between humans and nature· Learn processes for ethical and
compassionate consideration of non-human Nature· Develop tools for working
with despair and empowerment in an ecological context· Experience ways that
myth and ritual can influence contexts of perception, meaning and action·
Become familiar with new cosmological thinking and its significance for
ecology and spirituality.
