Support the Florentine forest campaign and blockade camp...home of a spectacular tall forested valley, a highly intelligent and successful blockade camp, and very talented and committed activists who are giving their time freely with full commitment on the ground every day for the past 20 months.
A bunch of us send a small weekly amount to foster the blockade camp. Say if ten of us send $7/wk, that’s $140 per fortnight to spend on essentials. One fortnight could see a new shovel and mattock and a big tarp. The next could be a piece of climbing gear and some water containers, etc. This support can really make a big difference to the campaign. Plus, regular contact with your foster feral will increase communications and deepen personal connection with what’s happening there - and be moral support for the camp at the same time. We will also send you occasional action items, such as sample letters to be sent to politicians. If you have the time, we hope you will participate in these actions as well and help us to spread word.
HOW IT'S SPENT
Your money will be spent every fortnight at the blockade camp and your foster feral has committed to keeping in regular contact with you to let you know how the money is spent. You will get an email update on the camp and campaign every fortnight by your most lovely foster feral. We at RIC will facilitate the communications and money transfer to make sure the program funds are documented and communications kept track of. If you don’t want to hear back regularly we can arrange that too.
HOW YOU PAY
The easiest way so far is if you take RIC (Rainforest Information Centre) bank details into your bank, and arrange with them to direct debit or direct transfer to this account the amount you want each week. Then email us and tell us so we can keep track easier, and send you your foster feral kit: rainforestinfo@ozemail.com.au
