SAVING THE CARDAMOM PROTECTED FOREST

WE STOPPED THE DAMMING OF THE ARENG RIVER!

The magnificent Areng Valley in Cambodia was threatened by an uneconomic Chinese dam. If it had gone ahead it would have wiped out endangered Siamese crocodiles and allowed loggers and poachers into the 'biodiversity jewel' that is the Central Cardomom Protected Forest, the largest remaining rainforest in SE Asia.

View the Rainforest Information Centre's 6-minute video clip of the actions by Buddhist monks and Mother Nature Cambodia which helped to stop the dam.
